This site was created as an independent study for my theatre history major.  I designed it as a resource for undergraduate theatre history students, but I hope it is useful to everyone who visits!  I chose to take out the Renaissance and not cover anything after the English Restoration simply because of the wealth of information available outside of this site for those time periods.  For example, a student studying Shakespeare would not necessarily need this site, while someone researching for a performance of one of Racine's plays may need a website like this.  With all of that said, I may very well add more time periods in the future, especially if I get feedback from current visitors asking that I do so!
